Job details.

Paraplanner

Location: Meriden, West Midlands
Salary: Up to £45,000 plus bonus and excellent benefits
Working pattern: Hybrid, three days in the office and two from home

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Diploma-qualified Paraplanner to join a successful and growing wealth management business in Meriden.

You will become part of a well-established financial planning team, working closely with experienced Financial Planners, fellow Paraplanners and administration colleagues. The role offers a good balance of technical responsibility, collaborative working and long-term career development.

The business provides structured support for those wishing to continue developing as career Paraplanners, work towards Chartered status or potentially progress into advice, technical specialist or leadership roles in the future.

The role

You will support Financial Planners throughout the advice process, helping to deliver high-quality and compliant financial planning solutions for clients.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Preparing detailed suitability reports and recommendation letters
  • Undertaking technical research across pensions, investments, protection and tax planning
  • Producing cashflow models and supporting long-term financial planning strategies
  • Preparing annual review documentation and updated recommendations
  • Analysing existing client arrangements and potential solutions
  • Obtaining and reviewing illustrations and supporting documentation
  • Maintaining accurate and compliant client records
  • Working closely with Financial Planners, administrators and compliance colleagues
  • Managing your own workload and ensuring agreed deadlines are met
  • Keeping technical knowledge current and contributing ideas to improve processes

About you

To be considered, you should have:

  • The Level 4 Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning, or an equivalent qualification
  • Previous experience working as a Paraplanner within financial planning or wealth management
  • Experience producing suitability reports and carrying out technical research
  • A good understanding of pensions, investments and personal taxation
  • Strong attention to detail and written communication skills
  • The ability to manage competing priorities and work collaboratively
  • A genuine interest in continuing to develop your technical knowledge

The salary is available up to £45,000, although the top end will be reserved for particularly experienced Paraplanners with strong technical knowledge and the ability to work with a high degree of independence.

Progression and development

This is an organisation with a strong record of investing in its people. Paraplanners can continue developing within a technical career path, with support available towards Chartered status and advanced qualifications.

For those whose longer-term ambition is to advise, internal opportunities may also become available once they have established themselves within the business. There may also be future routes into technical specialist, mentoring or leadership positions.

Equally, there is no expectation that every Paraplanner must become an Adviser. Experienced career Paraplanners are highly valued within the business.

Rewards and benefits

The package includes:

  • Salary up to £45,000, depending on experience
  • Discretionary annual bonus
  • Hybrid working, with three office days and two home-based days
  • 35-hour working week
  • 25 days’ annual leave plus bank holidays
  • Three additional office closure days over Christmas
  • Option to buy or sell up to five days’ holiday
  • 7.5% employer pension contribution
  • Private medical insurance
  • Four times salary life assurance
  • Group income protection
  • Health cash plan and dental insurance options
  • Employee share scheme
  • Fully funded professional qualifications
  • Up to eight paid study and revision days each year
  • A broad range of additional flexible benefits

The office is based in Meriden, between Birmingham and Coventry. Candidates should check the location carefully and be comfortable travelling to the office three days per week before applying.
