Financial Planner

Nottingham | Hybrid working | Competitive salary and benefits - enquire for more info

An established client portfolio, regular referrals from legal colleagues and a clear route towards senior leadership and partnership.

MBF are working with a leading East Midlands law firm to recruit an experienced Independent Financial Adviser for its Nottingham Wealth Management team.

This is an opportunity to combine high-quality financial planning with the professional relationships and infrastructure of an established legal practice. You’ll inherit a client portfolio from day one, with scope to grow through internal introductions and professional connections.

The opportunity

You’ll initially take responsibility for 48 clients, potentially increasing to 55, providing holistic advice and building trusted, long-term relationships.

The wider Wealth Management team oversees approximately £426 million across 550 client households, with an average relationship of around £774,000 and individual relationships extending up to £16 million.

Alongside looking after existing clients, you’ll help develop the business. Regular referrals come from solicitors across the firm, and there is further scope to strengthen relationships with colleagues in Nottingham and Derby, nurture professional connections and identify additional planning needs.

An existing client bank is welcome but is not a requirement.

Interesting planning work

Working closely with legal specialists across private client, trusts, probate, family and corporate services creates opportunities to advise on more complex financial circumstances.

Your work will include retirement and investment planning, inheritance tax planning, trusts, estate planning and wider holistic advice for individuals, families, trustees and business owners.

You’ll have dedicated paraplanning, administration and compliance support, alongside cashflow modelling and modern advice technology.

A business built around independent advice

This is a fully salaried role within an independent, fee-based advice business. There is no pressure to recommend in-house products or investment solutions, allowing you to focus on suitable advice and long-term client outcomes.

The firm employs over 200 people across the East Midlands and is part of an ambitious national legal group. This combines an established regional reputation with access to wider investment, resources and professional development opportunities.

For someone with ambitions beyond an advisory position, there is a clear route towards senior leadership and partnership.

About you

We’re looking for an experienced Financial Adviser who:

  • Holds the Level 4 Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning or equivalent.
  • Has a strong track record of delivering regulated financial advice.
  • Enjoys providing an excellent ongoing service to existing clients.
  • Can build relationships with solicitors and professional connections, converting introductions into new business.
  • Is comfortable with technically involved planning and working collaboratively on client cases.
  • Wants to contribute to the long-term growth of a Wealth Management team.

Package and benefits

  • Competitive salary - please reach out or apply for more information
  • Hybrid working.
  • 25 days’ holiday plus bank holidays.
  • Holiday purchase scheme.
  • Pension.
  • Healthcare cash plan.
  • Income protection.
  • Car scheme.
  • Employee benefits platform.
  • Discounts on selected legal services.
  • Progression towards senior leadership and partnership.
