Junior Financial Planner

Near Northwich | £45,000–£60,000, negotiable, plus revenue share and benefits

Ready to take ownership of client relationships, with an experienced Director helping you develop?

MBF is working with an established independent financial planning firm to recruit a Junior Financial Planner. This opportunity combines an existing client bank, close mentorship and a clear expectation that you will become a confident, self-sufficient Financial Planner within 12–18 months.

You may already be advising but need a stronger platform to develop. You could be an Associate or Trainee Adviser who is ready for greater responsibility. The firm will also consider an experienced, client-facing Paraplanner who can demonstrate the communication skills, initiative and commercial awareness needed to move into advice.

Your own clients from the outset

You will be introduced to approximately 30 existing clients as their new Adviser, taking responsibility for developing those relationships with the Director’s support. A further 10–20 clients are expected to transfer from the Director’s client bank over the following 12 months.

This gives you an established foundation from which to develop your advice skills and grow your own client bank, with revenue share providing additional earning potential alongside your basic salary.

Learn alongside the Director

You will work closely with the Director, learning the firm’s proposition, advice process and approach to looking after clients.

Alongside your own client relationships, you will support the Director’s work with high-net-worth clients. Your involvement will include:

  • Preparing for client meetings and undertaking investment research.
  • Sitting in on and contributing to meetings with new and existing clients.
  • Understanding clients’ circumstances, priorities and long-term objectives.
  • Developing your ability to explain advice clearly and lead meaningful planning conversations.
  • Taking increasing responsibility as your knowledge and confidence grow.

The aim is for you to be managing and building your own client bank with minimal supervision within 12–18 months.

Who will suit this opportunity?

You will hold the Level 4 Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning, or equivalent, and have relevant experience within financial planning.

Just as importantly, you will enjoy meeting people, be comfortable contributing to client conversations and have a clear desire to build a career as an Adviser.

The firm is looking for someone who:

  • Builds rapport naturally and can establish trust with clients.
  • Listens carefully, asks thoughtful questions and explains technical information clearly.
  • Takes initiative and is comfortable accepting responsibility.
  • Responds well to feedback and puts learning into practice.
  • Has the ambition and commercial awareness to develop existing relationships and win new clients.

You should be ready to take an active role in meetings and client relationships from the beginning, with support helping you become increasingly independent.

What’s on offer?

  • £45,000–£60,000 basic salary, negotiable depending on experience.
  • Revenue share from your client bank.
  • Approximately 30 existing clients from day one, with further clients expected over the next year.
  • Direct mentorship from an experienced Director, including exposure to high-net-worth planning.
  • A clear pathway to becoming a fully established Financial Planner within 12–18 months.
  • An additional benefits package.
