We’re working with an independent wealth management firm that provides bespoke financial planning to high-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth clients. As the business continues to grow, they’re looking for a Team Leader to take ownership of their support function, lead a team to ensure the business is equipped to deliver an exceptional standard of service.
This is an opportunity to move beyond the day-to-day management of an administration team and play a genuine role in shaping how the business operates. You'll have the autonomy to improve processes, develop your team and introduce more effective ways of working, while maintaining the personal, relationship-led approach that sets the firm apart.
The role
Working closely with the advisers and senior leadership team, you'll take responsibility for the performance and development of the administration team, ensuring workloads are managed effectively, standards remain high and everyone has the support they need to succeed.
Alongside your leadership responsibilities, you'll retain some hands-on involvement in administration and client liaison. You'll also play a key role in identifying opportunities to improve operational efficiency, from refining workflows and allocating workloads to strengthening client communication and compliance processes.
The wider objective is to build a strong, capable support function that can accommodate the firm's growth while enabling its IFAs to focus on delivering high-quality financial planning to their clients.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading, motivating and developing a team of six support staff.
- Managing workloads, team performance and the delivery of a consistently high standard of service.
- Providing guidance, constructive feedback and ongoing support to build the team's capabilities.
- Maintaining your own administration caseload and managing client communications where required.
- Reviewing existing processes and implementing improvements to workflows, compliance documentation and paraplanning support.
- Working closely with advisers to understand priorities and ensure the smooth running of the wider business.
About you
You'll have experience within an IFA practice or a similar financial services environment, alongside the leadership skills and ambition to take ownership of a team and its development.
You may already be a Team Leader or Senior/experienced Administrator looking to take the next step in your career.
We're looking for someone who:
- Has experience supervising, supporting or developing colleagues and is comfortable managing workloads and performance.
- Understands the administration, client servicing and compliance requirements associated with financial planning.
- Is highly organised, detail-oriented and able to manage competing priorities in a busy environment.
- Takes a proactive approach to improving processes and finding more effective ways of working.
- Builds strong working relationships and leads through clear communication, trust and collaboration.
- Wants to contribute to a growing business and have a genuine influence over how its support function develops.
What's on offer?
- Salary up to £45,000, depending on experience, plus a core benefits package.
- Flexibility: A predominantly office-based role with flexible working arrangements.
- Genuine autonomy: The opportunity to shape processes, influence operational decisions and make a tangible difference.
- Supportive leadership: A manager-owned, founder-led business where senior leaders are accessible and actively involved.
- Professional development: Support for training, further qualifications and ongoing career development.
- Long-term stability: An established, growing independent firm with no private equity ownership or constant restructuring.
- A client-first culture: No sales targets. The focus is on delivering excellent client outcomes and building a strong, effective team.
