A growing, chartered financial planning business is looking for a Trainee Financial Planner to join its Hungerford office. This is an opportunity to build a long-term career in financial planning, learning alongside experienced advisers and progressing through a structured Academy programme.
You’ll develop both the technical knowledge and the people skills needed to become a trusted adviser. The role offers exposure to client relationships, financial planning and the day-to-day work of a professional advice business. With the right commitment and progress, there is a clear route towards becoming a Financial Planner.
What you’ll be doing
- Learn the fundamentals of client service and financial planning.
- Work closely with experienced advisers and colleagues across the business.
- Build your technical knowledge through the Academy programme and professional qualifications.
- Develop the communication, organisation and relationship-building skills needed to work with clients.
- Take responsibility for your development and progress towards adviser-level roles.
About you
You may already have experience in financial services, administration or client support, or you may be bringing relevant experience from another setting. What matters most is your potential, motivation and understanding of what a career in financial planning involves.
You’ll be curious, personable and dependable, with a strong work ethic and the resilience to keep learning when things get challenging. You should be comfortable asking questions, listening to guidance and building positive relationships with clients and colleagues. You’ll also need the focus to work towards professional qualifications and the ambition to grow into a client-facing adviser.
Previous financial services experience and CII RO units are useful, but they are not essential if you can show the right attitude and commitment.
