Financial Planner | Edinburgh & Surrounding Area
Up to £84,000 basic + bonus + benefits
£50m inherited client book | Hybrid working

MBF are working with a growing wealth management organisation to recruit an experienced Financial Planner covering Edinburgh and the surrounding area.

The successful applicant will inherit an established client book of approximately £50m FUM from day one, with full paraplanning and administration support.

The opportunity

You’ll take ownership of an established portfolio, building relationships with clients and delivering holistic advice across pensions, investments, retirement, protection and tax planning.

Alongside ongoing reviews, you’ll identify further planning needs, develop referrals and build professional connections locally. Dedicated support will allow you to focus on advice, client relationships and developing the portfolio.

This is a hybrid position requiring 2–3 days per week in the office. Spending time alongside colleagues is an important part of the role, helping you build relationships with the wider team and work collaboratively. Some client meetings will also take place in the office.

About you

We’re looking for an experienced Financial Planner who combines strong relationship management skills with the ambition to develop an established client book.

You will bring:

  • A Level 4 Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning, or equivalent.

  • Current SPS and Competent Adviser Status.

  • Proven experience delivering holistic financial advice.

  • Strong technical knowledge and a client-first approach.

  • The ability to identify opportunities through existing relationships, referrals and professional connections.

Chartered status, or progress towards it, would be advantageous.

The package

  • Basic salary up to £84,000.

  • Performance-related bonus.

  • Approximately £50m FUM to inherit from day one.

  • Full paraplanning and administration support.

  • Hybrid working, with 2–3 office days per week.

  • Employer pension contribution of 7.5%.

  • 25 days’ annual leave plus public holidays.

  • Holiday purchase and sale options.

  • Private medical insurance, life assurance and income protection.

  • Further education and professional development support.
