Financial Adviser

  • Bournemouth
  • Permanent
  • £40,000 - £50,000 + bonuses and company benefits

Job details.

We are working with an established wealth management business in Bournemouth that is looking to appoint a Financial Adviser to take over an existing portfolio of clients. This is an excellent opportunity for an adviser who enjoys building long-term client relationships and delivering quality financial planning, without the pressure of having to generate their own business.

With an established client bank ready to take on, you'll be able to focus on what you do best: looking after clients, conducting meaningful annual reviews and ensuring they receive the right advice as their circumstances change.

The Opportunity

You'll be joining a well-established financial planning practice with an existing portfolio of clients.

Your primary responsibility will be to take ownership of this portfolio, ensuring clients continue to receive a proactive, consistent and high-quality service.

The role will suit an adviser who values long-term relationships, takes pride in providing clear and appropriate advice, and understands the importance of delivering an excellent ongoing service.

You'll conduct annual reviews, assess clients' changing circumstances and financial planning needs, and work closely with paraplanners and administrators to ensure advice is delivered efficiently and to a high standard.

Importantly, you won't be expected to build a client bank from scratch or spend your time cold calling and generating new business. The focus is on looking after existing clients and delivering good outcomes.

Where additional advice needs arise naturally through your client relationships, you'll also have the opportunity to generate additional income through a share of the initial fees on new business written.

Key Responsibilities

  • Taking ownership of an established portfolio of existing clients.
  • Conducting annual reviews and providing ongoing financial planning advice.
  • Building trusted, long-term relationships with clients and their families.
  • Understanding clients' changing circumstances, objectives and financial planning needs.
  • Identifying appropriate additional advice opportunities within existing client relationships.
  • Producing high-quality advice and compliant client documentation.
  • Working closely with paraplanners, administrators and specialist advisers to deliver a seamless client experience.
  • Ensuring client reviews and service commitments are delivered consistently and on time.

What We're Looking For

We're looking for a qualified Financial Adviser who enjoys the client-facing side of financial planning and wants to concentrate on providing an excellent service to an established client base.

Ideally, you'll:

  • Hold CAS (Competent Adviser Status) and be ready to advise clients independently.
  • Have experience conducting client meetings, annual reviews and ongoing financial planning discussions.
  • Be confident managing client relationships and identifying appropriate planning needs.
  • Have a strong understanding of advice quality, compliance and client outcomes.
  • Be organised, personable and comfortable working as part of a wider team.

Candidates who hold the Level 4 Diploma in Financial Planning but haven't yet achieved CAS will also be considered, with a supported development route available depending on their experience and current competency.

What's on Offer?

  • Salary up to £50,000: Depending on experience and suitability.
  • 10% discretionary annual bonus: Additional earning potential alongside your basic salary.
  • % of initial fees: A share of the initial advice fees on any new business you write.
  • An established client bank: Take over an existing portfolio rather than having to develop your own.
  • No requirement to generate new business: Focus on servicing clients and providing high-quality financial advice.
  • Experienced support team: Work alongside paraplanners, administrators and specialist advisers.
  • Hybrid working: Three days per week in the Bournemouth office.
  • Long-term opportunity: Join an established business with scope to develop your career as the practice continues to grow.

The Business

You'll be joining an established wealth management practice with an experienced team across financial advice, paraplanning, administration and mortgage advice.

The Bournemouth office provides a collaborative working environment, with senior leadership and experienced colleagues available to support you. You'll have the infrastructure around you to focus on clients and advice, rather than spending your time managing every aspect of the business yourself.

This is an ideal opportunity for an adviser who wants the benefits of an employed role, an established client portfolio and a supportive team, without the pressure of building a business from the ground up.
