About Our Client:

Our client, a leader in global specialty Re/Insurance. Is seeking an ambitious Underwriting Analyst / Assistant to join their Specialty Treaty Underwriting team. Role and Responsibilities:

As an Underwriting Analyst, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Specialty Team and the Department Head by:

  • Administering and Underwriting:  Assist in managing the Specialty Treaty Portfolio, ensuring seamless administration and accurate underwriting.
  • Data Management: Input and update data in various databases, keeping all systems current.
  • Tool Enhancement: Populate, develop, and maintain rating and aggregation tools to support underwriting processes.
  • Preparation and Support: Gather data for client meetings and underwriters’ trips, and support the production of periodic reports on aggregate exposure, capacity usage, and stress tests.
  • Cross-Department Collaboration: Liaise with other underwriting departments, Actuarial, Claims, and accounting teams, as well as offices regarding common underwriting and modelling practices.
  • Project Involvement: Participate in ad hoc team and company projects, contributing to innovative solutions and improvements.
  • Broker Relations: Develop and maintain strong relationships with brokers, enhancing communication and collaboration.

Technical Expertise:

  • Advanced proficiency in Excel, with good knowledge of Word and Outlook. SQL skills are a plus.

Education and Experience:

  • University degree required, with a mathematical background being essential.
  • High standard of English (A-level or high GCSE grade).
  • Willingness to undertake the ACII professional qualification.
  • Previous industry experience is beneficial.
