Trainee Paraplanner - Graduate Level 

Location: Leeds

Salary: £25,000 + Study Support + Bonus

Full-time, Permanent

An established and growing financial planning firm is seeking a Trainee Paraplanner to join their collaborative and highly professional team in Leeds. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build a long-term career within Financial Planning or Wealth Management.

This role is ideally suited to individuals who can demonstrate a genuine interest in financial planning, whether through study, internships, or personal research and enthusiasm for the industry.

The Opportunity

You will join a supportive paraplanning team, working closely with experienced Financial Advisers and Paraplanners to deliver high-quality advice to clients. This is a structured development role with full support towards professional qualifications and clear progression into a qualified Paraplanner position.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in preparing suitability reports and financial plans tailored to client objectives and risk profiles
  • Conduct research across pensions, investments, and protection products
  • Support cashflow modelling and financial analysis
  • Gather and organise client information from fact finds and documentation
  • Liaise with providers and platforms to obtain policy details
  • Maintain accurate client records and prepare valuations for review meetings
  • Ensure all work meets regulatory and compliance standards
  • Collaborate with advisers and wider team to support client delivery

About You

  • Demonstrable interest in Financial Planning or Wealth Management is essential
  • Strong analytical and numerical skills
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Well organised with the ability to manage multiple tasks
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word
  • Motivated to study towards professional qualifications

Preferred Background

  • Degree in Finance, Business, Economics, Accounting or a related field
  • A Levels including Maths, Economics or Business
  • Some understanding of pensions, investments or financial planning concepts is advantageous

Development and Progression 

This role offers a clear pathway into a fully qualified Paraplanner position, with long-term progression opportunities into senior paraplanning or advisory roles in the future.

Full study support is provided for the Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning, with further support available for advanced qualifications.
