Project Support Officer / Compliance Manager - Financial Planning / Compliance

The Role:

This crucial role will support the ongoing success of our clients financial planning division by managing and supporting a variety of compliance-focused projects. You'll be a key player in driving efficiency, enhancing client service, and ensuring regulatory adherence within a small, dedicated team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Management & Compliance Support: Plan, coordinate, and execute compliance projects across the financial planning division. Work with key stakeholders to ensure alignment with business needs and regulatory requirements (primarily FCA). Monitor timelines, track progress, report on milestones, maintain documentation and audit trails, and assist in implementing new regulatory frameworks and policies.
  • Operational Support: Support day-to-day operations, liaising with internal and external stakeholders (financial planners, compliance teams, third-party providers). Assist with data collection, report preparation, and analysis for compliance and operational reviews. Identify and implement process improvements to enhance team efficiency and compliance. Provide administrative and logistical support for project meetings.
  • Client & Team Communication: Act as a key point of contact for project-related queries. Communicate project updates effectively. Support the team in maintaining high service standards and client satisfaction. Assist in responding to compliance-related inquiries.

Essential Skills & Experience:

  • Minimum 3 years' experience in project management or support within financial services.
  • Knowledge of compliance frameworks, particularly within wealth management or financial planning.
  • Strong organisational and project management skills; ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; comfortable working with diverse stakeholders.
  • Meticulous attention to detail; methodical approach to problem-solving and compliance.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a hybrid working environment.

Desirable Skills & Experience:

  • Experience with FCA-regulated projects or within a compliance function.
  • Familiarity with financial planning software and CRM systems.
  • Relevant project management qualifications (e.g., PRINCE2, Agile).
