People/HR Officer

We are working with an award winning, established and growing organisation to recruit a People Officer/HR Officer on a fixed term contract.

Reporting to the People Director, and working alongside a small, friendly People Team, this is a key role supporting the learning and development of staff, firm-wide events, wellbeing initiatives and recruitment and onboarding processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support recruitment and career events, particularly during busy periods.
  • Coordinate onboarding plans and deliver induction sessions for new starters.
  • Design and deliver engaging in-person and online training sessions.
  • Assist with training design and delivery for managers and directors.
  • Plan and deliver firm-wide events including annual training and wellbeing days.
  • Manage training administration, CPD processes, and course bookings.
  • Maintain and update training documentation and office manuals.
  • Liaise with external training providers and promote internal learning opportunities.

We are looking for a professional, approachable and organised individual with a genuine passion for supporting people. You will be comfortable working across multiple areas, including training, recruitment, events and wellbeing.

You will ideally have:

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills; confident in delivering presentations and training.
  • Experience organising or delivering training, coaching, or staff development initiatives.
  • Strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams) and Canva.
  • A positive, flexible, and collaborative approach with a passion for learning and employee experience.
  • Experience in HR, training, or coaching is advantageous but not essential.
  • You must be able to commit to the full duration of the fixed-term contract and travel as required.
