Technical Paraplanner / Trainee Financial Planner

A well-regarded Wealth Management business is seeking a Technical Paraplanner with the potential to transition into an advisory role within 12 months to two years.

About the Opportunity
The firm has recently acquired a new business, resulting in a large influx of leads from GPP schemes. These clients, many of whom have not previously received advice, fall into the ultra-high-net-worth category, with assets under management (AUM) ranging from £5–20 million.

The Role
This position involves supporting two Chartered Financial Planners with high-level paraplanning responsibilities, primarily focused on pensions and investments. The role is designed to evolve into an advisory position, providing a clear pathway for professional growth.

Main Responsibilities

  • Preparing and analysing detailed financial planning reports, including pension and investment advice, for UHNW clients.
  • Undertaking technical research to support high-quality client outcomes.
  • Supporting the preparation of cash flow analyses and financial models to underpin client recommendations.
  • Assisting in the preparation of client meetings and attending these alongside the Financial Planners to gain hands-on experience.
  • Maintaining accurate client records and ensuring compliance with all standards.
  • Collaborating with Financial Planners to develop tailored, holistic financial plans.

Candidate Profile

  • Chartered or actively working towards Chartered status.
  • Strong technical knowledge in pensions and investments.
  • Ambitious and eager to transition into an advisory role within two years.
  • Excellent communication skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • High level of integrity, discretion, and attention to detail.

Package

  • Salary up to £55,000 (potentially higher for the right candidate).
  • Annual discretionary bonus.
  • Comprehensive support for professional development and qualifications.
  • Flexible working arrangements, including home-based options.
