The Opportunity
A well-established and expanding Independent Financial Adviser (IFA) firm is seeking an experienced Paraplanner to join its technical planning function. This is a key role within a business that delivers tailored financial advice and places strong emphasis on quality, technical accuracy and client outcomes.
The firm specialises in pensions, investments and inheritance tax planning and is known for its high professional standards and commitment to FCA Consumer Duty principles.
This position is based in Liverpool with hybrid working available for the right candidate.
What You Will Be Doing
You will work closely with Financial Advisers to support the delivery of high-quality financial planning advice. The role focuses on technical research, report writing and ensuring all recommendations are accurate, compliant and aligned with client objectives.
Key responsibilities include:
- Producing detailed suitability reports and financial planning documentation tailored to client needs
- Carrying out technical research across pensions, investments and inheritance tax planning strategies
- Supporting advisers in delivering compliant advice in line with FCA regulations and Consumer Duty expectations
- Translating client objectives into clear, well-structured recommendations
- Maintaining accurate and complete client files to audit standard
- Ensuring all work meets internal compliance standards and regulatory requirements
- Collaborating with advisers and wider team members to support efficient case progression
What We Are Looking For
Experience
- Minimum of 3 years’ paraplanning experience within a UK IFA firm
- Strong experience across pensions, investments, protection, bonds and trusts
- Exposure to complex inheritance tax planning solutions such as AIM portfolios and Business Relief structures is desirable
- Level 4 Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning or equivalent is essential, or close to completion with strong relevant experience
- Good understanding of FCA regulations and Consumer Duty principles
Skills and Knowledge
- High level of attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong technical knowledge of financial planning principles
- Clear and confident communication skills, both written and verbal
- Strong organisation and ability to manage multiple deadlines
- Competent with financial planning systems and Microsoft Office

What is on Offer
