Operational Resilience Lead - Insurance
Summary of the role:
As the Operational Resilience Lead, you will play a critical role in supporting Insurance clients with their operational resilience needs. You will be responsible for assisting clients in designing and implementing operational resilience frameworks in response to requirements from the PRA and the FCA, with a focus on scenario testing.
You will be a seasoned professional with a deep understanding of operational risk management, business continuity planning, and the London Market. You will be a strong communicator and collaborator, with the ability to build relationships with key stakeholders across the organization and with clients.
Responsibilities:
- Support risk and regulatory consulting engagements for clients, especially designing and implementing operational resilience frameworks in response to requirements from the PRA and the FCA.
- Plan, design, and facilitate scenario tests across a diverse range of test scenarios and to varied degree of detail.
- Design and operationalise resilience operating model for clients and drive annual review and refresh of existing body of work.
- Conduct gap assessments to identify areas for improvement in clients' operational resilience posture and compliance documentation.
- Collaborate with colleagues across EXL to deliver a comprehensive suite of operational resilience and related services to clients.
Qualifications and experience we consider to be essential for the role:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Continuity Management, Risk Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- Minimum 5 years of experience in operational risk management or business continuity planning
- Proven experience in supporting clients with operational resilience initiatives, preferably in the Insurance industry
- Strong understanding of the PRA and FCA operational resilience requirements for the London Market
- Prior experience of planning, designing and executing scenario tests as part of operational resilience programmes
- Knowledge of wider UK and European regulations such as DORA and those around third-party risk management
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Skills and Personal attributes we would like to have:
- Experience in the Insurance industry, particularly the London Market (desired)
- Project management experience (advantageous)
- Experience with relevant operational resilience or risk management software (advantageous)
