Cyber Security Engineer - Investment Management - London
The Role
We are currently working with a global investment management firm to find a new Cyber Security Engineer. You will implement and sustain effective cyber security controls across the group, offering support to colleagues through training and guidance on cyber security related matters, while being adept at working with diverse technologies, addressing security challenges, and troubleshooting network issues.
Responsibilities
- Planning, implementing, managing, monitoring, and enhancing security measures to safeguard the group's data, systems, and networks.
- Protecting networks against malware and viruses while identifying potential threats and areas for security improvement.
- Resolving security and network issues.
- Addressing system and network security breaches, conducting thorough investigations, and devising effective incident response plans, with a focus on learning from previous incidents to continually improve security protocols
Skills & Knowledge
- Extensive experience in IT infrastructure and desktop support, with a strong understanding of Networking and System Administration.
- Proficiency in operating systems, virtual machines, network security controls, and cloud security.
- Familiarity with industry-standard IT practices and support methodologies.
- In-depth functional knowledge of business operations, processes, and the related technologies.
- Awareness of emerging technologies such as blockchain security, the Internet of Things (IoT), and Artificial Intelligence (AI).
- Broad experience and foundational knowledge of IT infrastructure technologies, including DNS, DHCP, networking, Active Directory, Exchange, and virtualization.
