We are currently partnering with a well-established and highly regarded national wealth management business that is looking to appoint a Training & Competence Supervisor to join their growing team.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced professional to take on a key role within the business, supporting the development, oversight and ongoing competency of Financial Planners and Advisers across the organisation.
The Role
Working closely with senior stakeholders, you will play a central role in overseeing the Training & Competence (T&C) framework, ensuring advisers operate in line with FCA requirements and internal standards.
This is a varied and impactful position, combining coaching, monitoring, training delivery and regulatory oversight, with the opportunity to influence and improve the overall quality of advice across the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the T&C framework for Financial Planners, Mortgage Advisers and other regulated individuals
- Conduct observations, file reviews and competency assessments
- Deliver structured training sessions (both 1:1 and group) to support adviser development
- Identify knowledge gaps and implement tailored development plans
- Support advisers in achieving and maintaining Competent Adviser Status (CAS)
- Maintain accurate T&C records and ensure ongoing regulatory compliance
- Work closely with Compliance, HR and senior leadership to ensure consistent standards
- Monitor advice quality and provide feedback and recommendations for improvement
- Stay up to date with regulatory changes, including FCA requirements and Consumer Duty
About You
- Level 4 Diploma in Financial Planning (DipPFS, DipFA or equivalent)
- Proven experience within a T&C, Compliance, or Paraplanning/Advisory role within financial services
- Strong understanding of FCA regulations and T&C frameworks
- Experience of coaching, mentoring or developing advisers
- Excellent communication, analytical and organisational skills
- A proactive and collaborative approach, with the ability to influence stakeholders
