Paraplanner – Independent Financial Planning Firm | Up to £50,000 + 9-Day Fortnight | Hybrid (Southport or Liverpool)

I’m supporting a well-established Independent Financial Planning firm that is currently experiencing an exciting period of growth. They are looking for an experienced Paraplanner to join their centralised support team, working closely with their advisers to prepare high-quality, holistic financial planning recommendations. The business has a strong culture, a forward-thinking approach to client service, and offers an excellent benefits package—including a 9-day working fortnight.

About the Role

This is a full-time position based in either the Southport or Liverpool office, with hybrid working available for the right individual. The work is genuinely varied and interesting, spanning straightforward investment and pension recommendations through to more technical planning areas such as trusts, estate planning and IHT-efficient solutions.

This role would suit someone who enjoys the technical side of paraplanning, takes pride in delivering accurate, compliant work, and wants to contribute to outstanding client outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Producing high-quality financial planning reports and recommendations

  • Conducting detailed research and analysis across investments, pensions, protection, tax planning and trust arrangements

  • Supporting advisers by structuring clear, compliant advice reports

  • Managing workload effectively in a busy advisory environment

  • Contributing to process improvements and supporting the wider team where needed

The Ideal Person

Essential

  • 3+ years’ experience in a paraplanning role

  • Strong technical knowledge across pensions, investments, protection, tax and trusts

  • Proven ability to research, analyse and produce high-quality reports

  • Excellent written and verbal communication

  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail

  • Ability to work efficiently and meet deadlines

Desirable

  • Level 4 Diploma qualified (or close to completion)

  • Experience with estate planning, IHT and business protection

  • Willingness to collaborate and support continuous improvement initiatives

Benefits

  • Salary up to £50,000 (DOE)

  • 25 days’ annual leave + birthday off + bank holidays

  • Paid leave over Christmas shutdown

  • 9-day working fortnight – a paid day off every other week

  • 5% employer pension contribution via salary sacrifice, with NI savings reinvested

  • Death in Service at 10× basic salary

  • Private Medical Insurance

  • Cash Plan for dental, optical and additional health benefits

  • Extensive discounts and salary sacrifice schemes

  • Staff discount programme

  • Study support and paid study leave

  • Referral bonus scheme

  • Discretionary performance bonus
