Associate Financial Planner

  • Southampton
  • Permanent
  • £50,000 - £70,000 + Bonus and benefits

Job details.

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an ambitious Associate Financial Planner to join a highly respected, national wealth management firm, delivering personalised advice to a broad range of clients across the UK. With several billion pounds in assets under management and a reputation for client-first service, the firm is expanding its South West operation and is looking for a talented individual to step straight into a full advisory role.

This is a hands-on position from day one. The successful candidate will be fully responsible for providing advice to both new and existing clients, supported by a team of experienced professionals, extensive client referrals and high-quality training resources. You will have the opportunity to manage your own client relationships, convert leads into long-term advisory partnerships, and play a key role in the continued growth of the South West division.

The Role

As an Associate Financial Planner, you will:

  • Provide holistic financial planning advice directly to clients, both new and existing
  • Deliver an exceptional level of service aligned with a relationship-driven model
  • Manage your own client meetings and follow-ups, converting opportunities into long-term advisory relationships
  • Work with a pipeline of warm leads and introducer referrals, ensuring a strong client flow from day one
  • Identify and develop new business opportunities to support regional growth
  • Play a key role in expanding the South West operation

About You

The ideal candidate will have a combination of technical knowledge, commercial awareness and strong interpersonal skills.

You will ideally have:

  • Level 4 Diploma in Financial Planning (essential)
  • Strong experience in a Paraplanner, Trainee or Associate Financial Planner ready to take full advisory responsibility
  • A client-focused approach with the ability to build trust quickly
  • Confidence managing client meetings and converting opportunities
  • Commercial awareness and a proactive approach to developing new business
  • Level 6 qualifications are desirable but not essential — the firm provides full support and training to help you develop further as a qualified Financial Planner.

What’s on Offer

  • Basic salary up to £70,000
  • Performance-related bonus structure
  • Immediate access to warm leads and referral opportunities
  • Full support and high-quality training for ongoing development
  • Comprehensive benefits package
  • Long-term career progression within a highly successful national firm
  • A culture focused on providing quality advice and building strong client relationships

This is a unique opportunity for an ambitious Associate Financial Planner or Paraplanner to move directly into a full advisory role, manage their own clients and contribute meaningfully to the growth of a highly reputable South West operation.
