Job Title: Junior Paraplanner (Technical Adviser Support)
Location: Manchester City Centre
Salary: £30,000 - £36,000 (depending on experience)
Company Overview: Our client company is a well established firm of Independent Financial Advisors based in Manchester City Centre. Role Overview: They are currently looking for a Technical Adviser Support to join the Adviser Support Team. In this Junior Paraplanner type role, you will provide critical technical support to our advisers by conducting research, preparing documentation, and ensuring all compliance requirements are met.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with advisers to interpret and communicate financial advice based on clients’ circumstances, risk profiles, and objectives.
- Conduct product and fund research using tools such as Adviser Asset and FE Analytics.
- Prepare suitability and advice letters, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Obtain all pre-sale documentation, including quotations.
- Maintain compliant report templates and stay updated with relevant product, legislative, and technical changes.
- Support and train other members of the Adviser Support Team.
- Adhere to FCA’s Conduct Rules and maintain high standards of professionalism.
Requirements:
- Essential:
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in an IFA practice.
- Strong academic background (minimum GCSE Grade C in Maths and English).
- Confident IT skills with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Excellent knowledge of pensions, investments, and protection products.
- Strong time management and communication skills.
- Willingness to learn and take on ad hoc tasks.
- Desirable:
- Degree in a relevant field (Banking, Economics, Finance, Accounting, etc.).
- Progress towards professional qualifications such as Level 4 Diploma Financial Planning
- Experience with platforms like XPlan (Iress), Adviser Asset, and FE Analytics.
- Knowledge of providers and platforms such as Standard Life, AJ Bell, Aviva.
