A leading firm providing tax and wealth management advice to UK nationals residing in Europe is currently seeking an experienced Paraplanner to provide a full professional financial planning support function to Partners and Private Client Managers within its Maltese Practice. The successful candidate will possess a good understanding of financial services regulation & holistic financial planning and a Diploma in UK Financial Planning, Irish QFA or international equivalent qualification.

Key Responsibilities & Duties:

Client File Management:

  • Collaborate with the Partner and/or Private Client Manager to gather detailed quantitative information necessary for compiling Financial Plans.
  • Ensure compliance paperwork is complete and up to date.
  • Maintain accurate Know Your Client (KYC) information.
  • Confirm and agree upon client risk profiles.
  • Discuss client objectives with the Partner and/or PCM.
  • Gather necessary information for financial cash flow forecasts and net worth statements.

Recommendations Preparation:

  • Identify planning areas and conduct independent research or collaborate with the Partner and/or PCM to find suitable solutions.
  • Prepare analysis and comparisons for review.
  • Consider asset allocation for investment strategies in line with client risk profiles and company models.
  • Obtain approval from the Investment Team for investment strategies.
  • Draft recommendation reports and suitability letters for review and approval.

Cash Flow Modeling:

  • Ensure accuracy of quantitative data used in cash flow modeling tools.
  • Interpret qualitative data and build scenarios using cash flow modeling tools.
  • Implementation Oversight:
  • Supervise completion of application and proposal forms.
  • Ensure compliance paperwork is completed accurately.
  • Oversee changes to clients' investments as directed.
  • Ensure implementation of agreed recommendations.

Client Review Support:

  • Serve as the main point of contact for the Partner and Private Client Manager.
  • Assist in effectively addressing client queries and communication.
  • Attend client meetings as necessary.

Experience and Qualifications:

  • Comprehensive understanding of the financial planning process
  • Superior report writing abilities
  • Proficiency in IT skills including word processing and spreadsheet management
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in a financial planning firm
  • Hands-on experience with cash-flow forecasting

Benefits and Salary:

  • €40,000 - €50,000 per annum, plus performance related bonus scheme
