Financial Planner
Financial Planning Division | Investment Management Organisation
Location: Newcastle area
Salary: Up to £70,000 plus excellent benefits and car allowance
The Opportunity
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Financial Planner to join the Financial Planning division of a well-established investment management organisation, supporting clients across the Newcastle region. This role sits within a highly respected, relationship-led environment focused on delivering long-term financial advice to high-net-worth individuals, families, and high-earning professionals.
Typical clients include business owners, entrepreneurs, and senior professionals such as Partners within legal and accountancy practices. Financial Planners work exclusively with existing clients of the organisation, conducting most meetings within local offices alongside Private Bankers and Investment Managers.
This position offers the opportunity to inherit an existing client book while also developing new planning opportunities organically through collaboration with internal colleagues rather than external marketing or business development activity.
The Role
You will provide holistic financial planning advice aligned with the organisation’s client-first philosophy. Success in the role comes from building trusted relationships and delivering high quality advice rather than sales targets or incentives.
Key responsibilities include:
-
Delivering comprehensive financial planning advice to high-net-worth clients
-
Managing and developing an existing portfolio of clients
-
Working closely with Private Bankers and Investment Managers to identify financial planning opportunities within the existing client base
-
Educating colleagues to recognise client needs and cross-referral opportunities
-
Conducting client meetings primarily within local offices
-
Maintaining exceptional compliance and suitability standards
-
Providing advice that prioritises client outcomes, including recommending no action where appropriate
Paraplanning and administrative support are provided, allowing you to focus on client relationships and advice delivery.

Minimum Level 4 Diploma qualification (essential)
-
Experience working with affluent or high-net-worth clients

-
A client-first mindset aligned with high ethical standards
Applications are also welcomed from exceptional Paraplanners who have gained client-facing experience and are ready to step into an advisory role.
Experience within banking, private banking, or investment management environments is advantageous but not essential.
