Senior Financial Planning Administrator
Location: Sproston, Cheshire
Salary: £32,000–£35,000
Working arrangements: Potential for flexible hours and hybrid working
An established independent financial planning firm is looking for an experienced Financial Planning Administrator to join its close-knit team in Sproston.
This is a hands-on administration role for someone who can confidently manage a broad range of pensions and investment cases, take ownership of more complex work and provide guidance to a colleague who is continuing to develop.
You won’t be moving away from day-to-day administration into a management position. Instead, you’ll become a trusted and experienced member of the team, helping maintain high standards while ensuring client work is completed accurately and efficiently.
The role
Your responsibilities will include:
- Managing pensions, investments and protection administration from submission through to completion
- Handling more complex client administration cases
- Processing new business, withdrawals, top-ups, fund switches and portfolio rebalances
- Obtaining illustrations and preparing application documentation
- Gathering information from providers and checking it for accuracy
- Preparing valuations, client review packs and meeting documentation
- Maintaining accurate client records on Intelliflo and provider platforms
- Liaising with clients, advisers, providers and outsourced support
- Monitoring outstanding work and progressing cases within agreed timescales
- Supporting a less experienced administrator with technical queries and more complex cases
- Sharing knowledge and helping improve administrative processes
- Assisting with basic suitability and no-change letters where appropriate
Research and full recommendation report writing are currently outsourced, so this is primarily an administration position rather than a paraplanning role.
About you
You will need:
- Previous experience within a financial planning or IFA administration role
- Experience processing a broad range of pensions and investment business
- Strong working knowledge of provider platforms
- Experience using Intelliflo Office
- The ability to manage more complex cases independently
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
- Confidence communicating with clients, providers and colleagues
- A collaborative approach and willingness to support someone who is still developing
Previous mentoring or training experience would be useful, but formal management experience is not required.
Salary and benefits
- Salary of £32,000–£35,000
- 5% employer pension contribution
- Bank holidays in addition
- Health Shield cashback plan
- Gifted half-day off for your birthday
- Discretionary wellbeing gifts and vouchers
- Potential for flexible hours and hybrid working
There may be an opportunity to develop towards a trainee paraplanner position in the future. However, experienced career administrators who want to remain within administration will be equally valued.
