Financial Planning Administrator
Morpeth, Northumberland
Part time, Three days per week
Salary negotiable, depending on experience
A well-established independent financial planning firm in the centre of Morpeth is looking for an experienced Financial Planning Administrator to join its small and exceptionally stable team.
This is a permanent, three-day-per-week opportunity for someone who enjoys administration, values flexibility and wants to work in a friendly environment where their contribution will be genuinely appreciated.
The company
The business has been established for more than 23 years and provides independent financial planning to a loyal client base.
It currently manages approximately £50 million for around 220 clients and has ambitious but measured plans for further growth.
You will join a close-knit team consisting of one Financial Adviser, a full-time Paraplanner, a full-time PA and another part-time Administrator.
Staff retention is exceptional. One member of the team has been with the business for more than 22 years, with other colleagues approaching nine years and four years respectively.
The well-appointed offices are located in Sanderson Arcade in the centre of Morpeth, with shops, cafés and local amenities immediately nearby.
The role
Working three days per week, you will provide administrative support to the Adviser, Paraplanner and wider team. Responsibilities are likely to include:
- Maintaining accurate client records and updating the back-office system
- Processing new business and ongoing servicing requests
- Preparing documentation for client meetings and annual reviews
- Obtaining valuations, policy information and provider documentation
- Producing letters, spreadsheets and other client-facing documents
- Liaising with clients, providers and product platforms
- Monitoring outstanding cases and ensuring work progresses efficiently
- Supporting the wider team with general financial planning administration
- Making effective use of the firm’s technology and software
The business uses Intelligent Office, Dynamic Planner, O&M, CashCalc, Saturn AI and Selectapension. Previous experience of every system is not required, but familiarity with Intelligent Office and Dynamic Planner would be particularly beneficial.
What we are looking for
You will ideally have previous experience in an IFA, financial planning or wealth management environment.
You should also have:
- A good understanding of financial planning administration
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
- Confidence using Microsoft Word and Excel
- The ability to learn and work with a range of software
- A professional and approachable manner with clients
- The ability to work effectively within a small, close-knit team
This could particularly suit someone looking for a stable, part-time position rather than a structured route into paraplanning or financial advice.
Salary is negotiable and will reflect your experience. The exact working days and hours can be discussed during the recruitment process.
