Trainee Independent Financial Adviser

Remote / Home-Based | £35,000 + Uncapped Quarterly Bonus | Full Adviser Training Programme

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an ambitious individual looking to build a long-term career as an Independent Financial Adviser with a large, established UK financial planning business.

This is a genuine trainee adviser position offering a structured route into client-facing financial advice. You will receive extensive training, a gradual introduction to managing client reviews and ongoing support from an experienced team.

The position is predominantly home-based, with client meetings conducted remotely via video. You will need to attend one of the firm's offices in Nottingham, Wilmslow or Glasgow approximately once every two weeks for team meetings, training and ongoing development.

The training programme

The first six months are designed as a comprehensive induction and development period.

This includes:

  • Three weeks of intensive initial training
  • Role-play client meetings and reviews
  • Recorded calls and structured feedback
  • A dedicated buddy within the team
  • Regular coaching and development
  • A gradual introduction to live client meetings
  • Full administrative and paraplanning support

Initially, you will typically conduct around one straightforward client review per day, predominantly involving existing clients where little or no change is required.

There are no targets during your first quarter.

As your knowledge and confidence develop, the number of client meetings will gradually increase, alongside the complexity of the cases you handle.

A role focused entirely on advice

One of the major attractions of this opportunity is that you can concentrate on developing your skills as a Financial Adviser.

There is no requirement to prospect for clients or generate your own leads.

Your diary is managed and populated by the business, with existing clients provided for you to review and advise. You will also have dedicated paraplanning and administration support, leaving you to concentrate on client meetings, relationships and delivering good financial advice.

Earnings and progression

The starting basic salary is approximately £35,000, with significant additional earning potential through an uncapped quarterly bonus.

Once established, advisers receive 40% of new business written.

Successful advisers within the team can generate around £20,000 to £22,000 of new business per month, creating substantial bonus potential alongside their salary.

Basic salaries can also increase as advisers become more experienced and take on additional responsibility.

The longer-term earning potential is excellent, with established members of the team earning approximately £80,000 to £150,000.

There are also opportunities to progress into roles advising higher-value clients with increasingly complex financial planning requirements as your experience develops.

Who are we looking for?

This opportunity will suit somebody who genuinely wants to build a career in financial advice.

You will need to be:

  • Ambitious and motivated by progression
  • Resilient and comfortable working in a busy environment
  • Extremely well organised
  • Confident communicating with clients remotely
  • Willing to learn and receptive to regular feedback
  • Prepared to work hard to develop your technical and client-facing skills
  • Looking for a long-term career rather than simply your first adviser title

The environment is supportive, but it is also intensive. You will gain exposure to a high volume of client situations and reviews, allowing you to build experience considerably faster than may be possible in a more traditional trainee role.

The business is looking for people who can see themselves committing to the team for the next three to four years, developing from trainee level into confident, experienced Financial Advisers with excellent earning potential.

For somebody looking for the opportunity to finally move into financial advice, while receiving the clients, training and support required to succeed, this is an outstanding platform from which to build a career.
