Financial Planner – Succession Opportunity
Field Based | Glasgow Support Office | Salary up to £100,000 + Bonus
An established national wealth management firm is looking to appoint an experienced Financial Planner as part of a long-term succession plan.
The opportunity would suit an Adviser who can bring a small number of established client relationships with them but wants the security and growth potential of joining a well-capitalised business. You will work closely with a highly experienced Senior Financial Planner who is gradually winding down and looking to transition a significant portfolio of clients to the right person.
This will be a carefully managed handover rather than an immediate transfer. You will attend joint meetings, build relationships with clients and progressively take responsibility for their ongoing financial planning. The firm can also provide high-quality leads and further client opportunities to help you develop a substantial long-term portfolio.
The role
You will provide holistic, independent financial planning and ongoing advice to a diverse portfolio of HNW and UHNW clients.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Developing trusted, long-term relationships with new and existing clients
- Working alongside a Senior Financial Planner to manage the gradual handover of an established client portfolio
- Attending joint meetings and ensuring continuity throughout the transition
- Providing high-quality advice across pensions, investments, protection, estate planning and wider financial planning
- Managing and developing the client relationships you introduce to the firm
- Following up professionally generated leads and new client opportunities
- Maintaining strong technical, regulatory and ethical standards
- Representing the firm and contributing to its presence within the local market
About you
You will already be an experienced Financial Planner with a strong track record of providing holistic advice and managing ongoing client relationships.
Ideally, you will:
- Be able to transition a small, established portfolio of clients
- Hold the Level 4 Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning
- Be Chartered or working towards Chartered status
- Have experience advising HNW clients with varied and potentially complex requirements
- Be comfortable taking responsibility for client relationships while working collaboratively with an experienced support team
- Demonstrate strong communication skills and a genuinely client-focused approach
- Be looking for a secure, long-term home for both yourself and your clients
Package and support
The firm offers:
- A salary of up to £100,000, depending on experience and the clients being introduced
- No validation requirement during the first 12 months
- Performance-related bonus potential thereafter
- A structured succession plan and access to an established client portfolio
- A consistent supply of high-quality leads and new client opportunities
- Dedicated paraplanning and administrative support
- Modern technology and a well-developed operational infrastructure
- Complete flexibility over where you work
- The backing and stability of a well-capitalised national wealth management business
- A long-term plan for supporting your clients when you eventually decide to retire
This is a genuinely field-based position with no requirement for regular office attendance. You will be aligned with the firm’s Glasgow office, where your paraplanning and administrative support teams will be based, but you will have the flexibility to manage your diary and work in the way that best suits your clients.
For an experienced Adviser considering the next stage of their career, this offers an unusual combination of autonomy, financial security, inherited client opportunities and a credible long-term succession plan.
