Employee Benefits Administrator

Meriden, West Midlands, Hybrid

£30,000 to £35,000 plus benefits

We are working with a well-established, boutique firm of Chartered Independent Financial Advisers that provides both personal financial planning and employee benefits advice to individuals, families and businesses across the Midlands.

The company offers a highly personal, relationship-led service and has built an excellent reputation for looking after its clients over the long term. Alongside its wealth management division, the firm has a dedicated employee benefits team supporting corporate clients with workplace pensions, group risk, healthcare and wider benefits arrangements.

As the business continues to grow, it is now looking to recruit an experienced Employee Benefits Administrator to join its Meriden office.

The role

Working alongside the firm’s Employee Benefits Consultants and administration team, you will help deliver an efficient and responsive service to a portfolio of corporate clients.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting the administration of group pension and group risk schemes
  • Obtaining quotations from insurers and product providers
  • Assisting with new scheme implementations, renewals and ongoing scheme servicing
  • Liaising with employers, insurers and other providers
  • Supporting the preparation of market reviews, comparisons and client documentation
  • Processing joiners, leavers and other scheme amendments
  • Assisting with underwriting, claims and general scheme enquiries
  • Maintaining accurate client and scheme records
  • Responding to client queries by telephone and email
  • Ensuring all work is completed accurately, promptly and in line with regulatory requirements

The successful candidate

Ideally, you will have previous experience administering both group pensions and group risk benefits. However, the company is equally happy to consider someone whose experience has primarily been within one of these areas.

Experience could include products such as:

  • Group personal pensions and workplace pension schemes
  • Group life assurance
  • Group income protection
  • Group critical illness cover
  • Private medical insurance
  • Health cash plans and other workplace benefits

You should also have:

  • Previous experience within employee benefits, corporate pensions or group risk administration
  • Strong organisational skills and excellent attention to detail
  • The ability to manage several cases and competing priorities
  • Confident written and verbal communication skills
  • A professional and client-focused approach
  • Good general IT skills and the ability to learn new systems

Professional qualifications are not essential, although full support will be available for anyone interested in further study and career development.

The company

This is an opportunity to join a growing, independent and Chartered financial planning business rather than a large corporate or consolidator.

The firm combines personal wealth management with a comprehensive employee benefits proposition, allowing it to advise both individuals and companies. It has a collaborative culture, an experienced leadership team and a strong focus on providing a genuinely high-quality service.

The business offers a supportive working environment, opportunities for professional development and a competitive benefits package, including group protection benefits, a health cash plan and exam support.

Salary and benefits

  • Salary of £30,000 to £35,000, depending on experience
  • Hybrid working, with every Friday and alternate Mondays working from home
  • Group life assurance
  • Group critical illness cover
  • Health cash plan
  • Full support for relevant professional qualifications
  • Additional company benefits
  • Long-term development opportunities within a growing Chartered firm

This role would suit an experienced Employee Benefits Administrator who enjoys working within a smaller, personable business where their contribution will be recognised and valued.
