Overview
We are recruiting for an experienced Paraplanner to join a growing financial planning team. This role will suit a technically strong individual who enjoys working closely with advisers to deliver high-quality, compliant financial advice and tailored client solutions.
You will play a key role in the preparation of financial plans, research, and suitability reporting, allowing advisers to focus on client relationships and strategic advice.
Key Responsibilities
Research & Analysis
- You will conduct detailed research across pensions, investments, protection, and other financial products. The role involves analysing fund performance, market trends, and investment strategies, producing cashflow modelling, retirement projections, tax planning, and risk analysis, and maintaining accurate client data within financial planning systems.
Suitability Reports & Financial Planning
- You will draft clear, compliant suitability reports aligned to client objectives and risk profiles. You will prepare personalised financial plans covering investments, pensions, protection, estate planning, and tax efficiency, and use financial planning software to model and present multiple scenarios.
Regulatory Compliance
- You will ensure all advice and documentation meets regulatory and compliance standards, maintain audit-ready client files and accurate records, and identify and mitigate potential compliance risks.
Adviser & Client Support
- You will provide technical support to financial advisers, liaise with providers to obtain information and documentation, assist with complex applications and follow up outstanding client information, and occasionally interact directly with clients to clarify financial details.
Development
- You will keep up to date with regulatory, legislative, and product changes and continue your professional development and technical learning.
Key Skills & Attributes
- You will have strong technical paraplanning experience, excellent written and verbal communication skills, high attention to detail, and strong analytical ability. You will be confident using financial planning software, well organised with the ability to manage multiple priorities, client-focused, collaborative, adaptable, and a positive team contributor.
Experience & Qualifications
- You will have proven experience supporting financial advisers with cashflow modelling and financial planning, strong knowledge of UK financial products and regulation, and be Level 4 Diploma qualified as a minimum. Working towards Level 6 is desirable.
Benefits
- The role offers a salary of £40,000 – £50,000 depending on experience, hybrid working with a minimum of two days per week in the office, 25 days annual leave plus one wellbeing day, death in service benefit of three times salary, and a company pension at auto-enrolment rates with the option to salary sacrifice.
