Position Overview:

  • In close partnership with the Head of Run-off, administering the ceded reinsurance (XOL) contracts, mostly on Run-off book. This person ensures and maximizes recoveries related to those contracts in coordination with other internal functions and in contact with external reinsurers.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Defines and executes the overall data management and analytics including data governance, collection, and reporting for reinsurance claims and associated recoveries across the Run-Off business.
  • Evaluates key data and often complex information, providing insightful interpretation and uncovering critical issues which informs key actions and decision for the Run-Off business.
  • Shape the delivery of Management Information, analysis and insight relating to claims, to the wider business including executive leadership; owns conversion of the metrics and data to reports, dashboards and scorecards.
  • Provide thought leadership for the design and implementation of robust analytics to provide actionable insight intended to drive improved claims performance and ultimately improved company performance.
  • Serves as active participant and member of the Run-Off. team, providing analytical support.
  • Liaison with claims and actuarial leadership to provide clarity on claims performance and provide insight into emerging and existing trends.
  • Independently collaborates with key partners to improve business results where opportunities have been identified, including cross-functional teams and ad-hoc projects.
  • Provide analytical support to the Run-Off business to both build business cases for innovation as well as track the flow of benefits.
  • Comply with procedures, policies and regulations as relevant to remit.
  • Updating of reinsurance contracts
  • Other duties may be assigned in order to meet the on-going needs of the organisation

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree with Master's degree preferred in a related discipline. Experience
  • Reinsurance claims administration and recoveries (typically XOL)
  • Experience of dealing with multiple lines in an international environment Functional/Technical Competencies
  • Understanding of reinsurance contracts
  • Experience in the administration of recoveries from reinsurance
  • Be detailed and organised. A self-starter with the ability to manage and execute with limited direction
  • Proven ability to manage and interpret data, spot trends, and capture the message or ‘story’ and translate both written and visually to executive level audience.
  • Comfortable working in matrix environment and to influence and communicate effectively with Senior Executives.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate constructively with people at all levels across the organisation; consults widely on key decisions affecting the business unit, involving the relevant stakeholders where required.
  • Leverages learnings on analytics and reporting from North America with International and vice versa.
  • Able to communicate in a timely and effectively
  • Ability to interact with internal functions when required
