MB Fitzgerald are currently working with a boutique, Investment focused firm of Chartered Financial Planners in the centre of Manchester who are looking to recruit a Trainee Financial Planner to join their team.

The role is very much a client focused role, with the idea being to train the person from day one on the client facing aspects of the role whilst also ensuring that their technical ability meets their high standards. Although they are extremely profitable, the business is not particularly sales orientated and always puts the client first, which is why they have longstanding relationships with clients going back several generations.

We are looking for somebody who is personable and ambitious, but not a salesman. You will be in a Paraplanner or Junior Consultant position already and must be Diploma Qualified as a minimum. Candidates who are Chartered or studying towards will be at an advantage and you must have a strong Pensions knowledge.

As this is a small business, the candidate will need to fit in with the culture of the company and if they do, there will be genuine progression available. There could be an opportunity for them to take over the Company in 10-15 years. There will be clients available from the start and with one of the Directors due to retire in the coming years, the number of clients available will definitely increase.

Starting salary is negotiable depending on experience and qualifications. This is a genuine opportunity to progress as a Financial Planner and potential business owner in the future. It is a long term opportunity and must be viewed as such. Current Partners of the firm took the same career path and are now reaping the benefits.
