Chartered Financial Planner - London

To £80,000 plus bonus and an exceptional benefits package

We are working with a well-established national wealth management business to recruit a Chartered Financial Planner into their London office.

Our client is a chartered firm with a national presence and an excellent reputation, forming part of a larger financial services group. They deliver holistic advice across retirement planning, investments, protection and tax planning to clients throughout the UK.

The opportunity

  • This is an immediate vacancy created by the retirement of an existing Financial Planner. The successful candidate will take over an active, established client bank producing in excess of £300,000 in recurring revenue, with access to new business opportunities alongside it. The role is based from the London office with hybrid working available.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide financial planning advice to individuals through comprehensive KYC and needs analysis, identifying solutions within the principles of best advice and suitability
  • Manage the transition of the client bank from the retiring adviser, ensuring continuity of service and maintaining strong client relationships
  • Work alongside the support team to produce advice reports to business and regulatory standards, and implement agreed solutions
  • Manage workflow with the support teams so that administration meets the firm's record keeping and file quality requirements
  • Deliver ongoing services to existing fee-paying clients to the agreed service level
  • Deal with advice enquiries from within and outside the business, promote services to external introducers and work with colleagues across the wider group to identify new opportunities
  • Maintain competence in line with the FCA's Statements of Principles and the firm's Training and Competence scheme

What you will need

  • Chartered status with the CII, or working towards it
  • A current Statement of Professional Standing from the CII
  • A minimum of three years' relevant industry experience
  • Comprehensive industry and technical knowledge
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • The ability to work in a structured, efficient manner, making effective use of support staff

Package and benefits

  • Base salary to £80,000
  • Annual performance-related bonus
  • Pension with employer contributions of up to 12%
  • Life assurance at 6x pensionable salary, flexible up to 18x
  • Company-funded private medical cover, with the option to add family or partner cover
  • Income protection at 60% of salary, with the option to increase to 75%
  • Six months' full pay under short-term disability after one year of service
  • £150 per year towards health screening
  • 25 days' holiday, with the option to buy or sell up to five days
  • Hybrid working
