Role: Underwriting Administration Assistant
To provide reliable, accurate and efficient support to the Underwriting Operations team.
- Dealing with enquiries, quotes, new and renewal business and endorsements into core underwriting administrative system within agreed timelines and accuracy targets;
- Ensure timely scanning of core risk documentation to relevant folders or document management systems;
- Assist in the provision of data verification and integrity checks;
- Photocopying, filing and archiving of key documentation in a timely manner at the Office and at the box in Lloyds;
- Research submissions using appropriate sources e.g. Exclusive Analysis and the Internet;
- Work with the Delegated Underwriting Authority Manager to ensure accurate and timely capture of estimated income, declaration and bordereaux on binding authorities for reporting requirements as and when required
- Assist in tracking the live status of all risks through every stage in the risk cycle;
- Provide assistance with the monitoring of upcoming renewals and risks in the new business pipeline;
- Provide assistance in the chasing and capture of risk, premium and claims bordereaux for binders for the team on a weekly basis for upload into our DUA software.
Broker/Client Interaction
- Provide a professional service to brokers, clients and external suppliers in person, writing, email and telephone as and when required;
- Maintain and develop key relationships, responding to queries in a timely fashion;
- prepare, attend and note for client meetings as required;
- Liaise with brokers to ensure all slips and additional information received is accurate and complete as and when required.
Reporting & Operational Requirements:
- Assist in providing accurate management information to the Underwriting team and senior management when required;
- Assist in producing ad hoc reports, presentations and other team literature for key relations as and when requested;
- Assist in the monitoring of credit control aged debt ensuring the timely collection of premiums as and when requested;
- Assist Data Quality Analyst with clearing exception report items where risks have data integrity anomalies;
- Ad hoc reporting for weekly meetings;
- Assist with the month end process to ensure that all activities are completed within required timeframes to facilitate operational reporting to Lloyds including the following activities:
o USM messages assigned to all risks
o PMD information: Risks moved to status of written for PMD capture and renewal information is up to date on core Underwriting system
o All checks and peer reviews are complete and updated on the core Underwriting administration system in a timely matter for the reporting period
o Assist in identifying the differences in premium on the underwriting administration system
o All referrals have been completed and evidenced accordingly
o All declarations and bordereaux are up to date on the core delegated underwriting authority system
Experience Required
- Strong academics A'level or Degree
- Solid experience within Administration with good attention to detail
- Background in accurate, high volume data entry
- 1yrs experience in the London Insurance Market - Desirable
- Lloyd's Market test - Desirable
