One of the UK's leading wealth managements organisations is seeking to recruit an experienced Intermediaries Operations Manager to support the development of the strategic model and selected day-to-day activities and initiatives.

This particular vacancy is working within the companies intermediaries division and will involve working closely alongside the Head of Strategic Development with the development of the strategic model and selected day to day activities and initiatives.

Although the role is titled "Intermediaries Operation Manager" there are no actual line management duties that need to be undertaken. This is an interesting and varied role that could suit an all-rounder with good experience of working in the Investment/Asset Management sector, there will be elements of a project management type role with scope for the individual to move into a line management role further on down the line.

This new role will support the Head of Strategic Development in delivering the teams objectives and developing new initiatives. The successful applicant will work closely with the RMD, Client Facing Business Management, and Regional Business Managers. The role holder will be able to identify areas of improvement and successfully drive forward change initiatives. They will be able to engage with SMEs from across the business at both junior and senior levels, with the ability to distil key messages into and from these relationships. This new role also plays a critical role promoting the teams' capabilities and interests internally with other key stakeholders and externally with our key vendors such as investment platforms and data providers.

Responsibilities Include:

Management and coordination of various operational and governance-based projects and initiatives within and on behalf of the team
Support the HoSO in development and delivery of the Strategic Operating Model, by reviewing process and operations with a constant view to streamlining and evolving the teams' operations
Manage the relationship with external platform and technology vendors, when required
Deputising for the HoSO in their absence as required and acting as the alternate main point of contact for their other direct reports and, the channel as a whole
Ensuring objectives are monitored and adhered in line with the annual review cycle
Representing the HoSO in various BD governance meetings and business forums, as and when required
Representing Intermediaries in Change working groups and business implementation readiness boards
Regular engagement/ stakeholder management with BD business partners / teams, such as IT, Change, Finance, Marketing, Business Management, Operations and others to identify, direct and deliver programmes of work including written updates such as monthly management meeting packs
Ensuring that the HoSO receives timely and relevant Management information and team updates for internal and external reporting purposes such as monthly management
Reviewing team performance and process against business SLAs, ensuring action is taken in the client-facing business and 2LOD as needed to support improvements

Skills:

Significant experience working in investment management, asset management, private wealth or a bank.
Front Office Operations knowledge expected
Investment and Fund Management knowledge required
Experienced and competent at managing business projects and coordinating business initiatives in a structured manner
Proven project management skills: well organised and able to motivate and manage a group to deliver good outcomes for clients and colleagues.
Good MS Office skills
Numerate and able to define MI fit for purpose
Eager to learn about the Intermediary business and to broaden their knowledge base
Comfortable interacting with people at all levels of the organisation and challenging demands, if necessary
