In response to significant growth in business activity, Our client is seeking to expand the capability of its Finance and Technical Processing function and enhance its technical capability. To this end, a new role has been created in the Technical Processing team of 3 (within a Finance and Technical Processing team of 12) to complement its current skillset and ensure the continued delivery of high quality insurance transaction processing and management information to the senior management of the Company.

Key Result Areas
The principal activities and responsibilities of the Technician are:
⦁ Raising transaction journals in the company's advanced multi-currency accounting systems in response to electronic transaction requests raised by case handlers, and by reference to the premium terms set out in MRCs
⦁ Submission of premiums to the Insurance Market Repository (IMR)
⦁ Resolution of queries relating to these submissions
⦁ Resolution of accounting and technical queries arising from colleagues, clients and insurers
⦁ Ensuring that Premiums to be paid via the IMR are apportioned correctly and submitted to Xchanging in accordance with the Settlement Due date.
⦁ Other ad hoc statistical exercises as may be required
⦁ Maintenance of role specific departmental procedures

Key Competencies
⦁ Experience of working in a Lloyd's of London environment
⦁ Ability to read and understand the principal elements of a Market Reform Contract desirable but not essential
⦁ Understanding of Premium apportionment and any relevant taxes also desirable, but not essential
⦁ Advanced capability with MS Excel, with a high degree of numeracy
⦁ Close attention to detail and proven record-keeping skills within a systems-oriented environment
⦁ Proven and demonstrable senior management interaction
⦁ Capable of using initiative to deal with multiple challenges
⦁ Excellent planning and organisational ability, can juggle multiple demands and prioritise work accordingly
⦁ Determination to meet tight deadlines
⦁ Utmost attention to detail and a focus to achieve presentable and high quality work
⦁ Adaptable and ability to respond well to change and pressure
