Head of Employee Benefits

  • The Head of Employee Benefits will typically develop and direct business models and service structures that ensure sustainable revenue. Furthermore, they’ll be expected to establish the business so that it receives a constant flow of leads and continually grow the businesses revenue
  • Within smaller advisory practices the Head of Employee Benefits may be involved in rolling out/designing an online system for their corporate clients.
  • Other job titles include; Employee Benefits Director, Head of Group Risk, Group Risk Director, Head of Healthcare and Healthcare Director

Employee Benefits Consultant

  • An Employee Benefits Consultant will maintain and develop a portfolio of new and existing clients whose sizes range from SME to large corporate. Some Employee Benefits Consultants will identify and proactively develop new business opportunities whilst others simply farm a portfolio
  • They will often host financial education workshops and presenting staff benefits to groups of employees varying in number. Furthermore, they’ll be expected to conduct one–to-one advice appointments with employees regarding their workplace pension scheme and employee benefits

Group Risk & Healthcare Consultant

  • A Group Risk & Healthcare Consultant will either service an existing client bank or actively convert new business prospects through supplied or self-generated leads. They typically look to cross selling into their existing portfolio to continually grow their portfolio income
  • The consultant vacancies are usually field based however many companies still prefer their consultants to be desk based
  • To be a Group Risk & Healthcare Consultant no qualifications are essential but GR1 and IF7 are preferable

Employee Benefits Administration

  • An Employee Benefits Administrator will typically act as a client’s main point of contact for any queries or needs relating to their; group risk, healthcare, flexible benefits and GPP schemes. They’re typically expected to conduct holistic administration relating to schemes, this can include liaising with providers to obtain valuations, contribution breakdowns and other required information
  • To be an Employee Benefits Administrator no qualifications are essential but they will often be expected to study for CII R0, IF7 and GR1 exams.
  • Other job titles include; Employee Benefits Executive, Group Risk Administrator, Group Risk Technician, Group Risk Analyst, Healthcare Administrator, Healthcare Technician and Healthcare Analyst

Employee Benefits Graduate

  • A graduate entering employee benefits will typically start within a Junior Employee Benefits Administrator position. They will usually work alongside other Administrators compiling and sending out information packs.  Once they have a greater understanding of the market they will begin taking on more senior administration duties and liaising with providers and clients
  • To be considered for an Employee Benefits Graduate position a 2:1 or 1st class degree is typically required
